Banco Jajalpa
‘Banco Jajalpa’ / ‘Jajalpa stool’ is a versatile piece of furniture which can serve as a side table, footstool or regular stool. Inspired by the proverb “less is more,” this stool incorporates sleek modern design and simultaneously plays with visual balance. Its offset shape, which results in a seemingly different stool depending on the angle its viewed from, brings out the stool’s character and versatility.
This stool is finished with the Japanese technique of preserving wood: “Shou Sugi Ban.” The brilliance of this burnt finish is not only its elegant and clean aesthetic, but also that it makes the wood weather-proof (water resistant, insect resistan, sun resistant). This results in a stool that can be used both indoors and outdoors, but requires significantly less upkeep than traditional outdoor wooden furniture, such as teak furniture.
Materials: Solid oak wood with Shou Sugi Ban finish.
Dimensions: 13.5” x 17” x 24”
